This creation shows the walk through a park along a creek in Denver. The piece moves from a crowded park past a road and river and finally past a peaceful area where kids are playing. The piece shows a number of different interactions that would occur over the length of an adventure like this but the overall piece continues to remain silent throughout. This emphasis the silence of nature wether you find that a good or bad thing. We all may think we are surrounded by people and hear different things that give us the illusion of being one with society and in a group, but in reality we are alone. We are alone just walking through the silence. The piece as a whole represent one of my favorite parts of my summers and something that I hold dearly to my heart. Currently I work in Denver and most times during lunch I am able to talk a walk down cherry creek trail to get food. In those moments I am truly at peace. Not a care in the world, I am just able to walk and enjoy the noises around me. While creating this project I took a couple of walks and really payed attention to the sounds that were occurring as I moved past each one. The amazing things that I noticed is how many different sounds I walked by and how each one was completely different from the last. Each part of the walk had different sounds and made it feel like a journey. Thus, I tried to incorporate that into my project and make each part of the piece sound like a new place but keeping the continuous sounds of the footsteps on create one complete piece.
